"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7
"Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:" Isaiah 42:5
I snore.
I didn't know that I snored, until my husband lovingly told me that I snored; and then he lovingly compared my snoring to an Amtrak Train.
I often wake up multiple times during the night, but I always blamed it on the need to use the Water Closet. I also have a deviated septum caused by an old metal Christmas Tree Stand that had fallen off the top shelf in the basement, which landed on the bridge of my nose while I was carelessly reaching for something else.
But since my husband was losing quality sleep over it, I decided it was time to mention it to my doctor, who then referred me for a Sleep Study. Interestingly enough, the study showed that I stop breathing multiple times during the night, and it's not the need to use the Water Closet after all that wakes me up, but it's the fact that my body wakes up to take a breath.
In a previous Post, I mentioned being held hostage by metal brackets and wires in my mouth; I am now being held hostage by a mask and long hose that allows each breath I take to sound like Darth Vader. Each night before I place this contraption over my face, my husband kisses me goodnight and rolls over for a good night's sleep.
Although this CPAP machine will help me breath during the night, my husband and I both know Who keeps me breathing. Each breath I take in, each breath I breathe out, and each breath that is missed, is held in the hands of my Saviour.
"The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever."
Psalm 37:18
I don't know when I will take my last breath...
but I do know, my breath is in the hands of the LORD and not a machine...
And until then I will live Psalm 150:6-"Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
But that's just me!
"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:8
