Today

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  James 4:14

I will admit, that sometimes when I wake up to start my day, I'm already thinking about the things I have to do tomorrow, the day after that, next week, or even a month away.  When I do that, I burden myself with too many worries!  I zap my own strength before I even set out to do the tasks awaiting for me today.  I become overwhelmed and my thoughts become jumbled.  I'm tired before even getting dressed.  I've heard it said, 'Life is what happens while we are making other plans."  I believe it, because if I'm already thinking about a day I'm not guaranteed to have, I waste the day I have been given.

Lamentations 3:22, 23 are two of my most favorite verses in the bible.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consume, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

God promises me new mercies for each day.  He will always provide just what I need!
I don't want to waste today's mercies on a tomorrow that might not ever come...
    But that's just me!

God help me to put you first in my 'today' so that all other things will fall into their proper place!

Keep Me in the Moment
by
Jeremy Camp/Jordan Sapp/Matthew Joseph West

Chorus:

Oh, Lord, Keep me in the moment,
Help me live with my eyes wide open,
'cause I don't want to miss what you have for me!
