I Want...

When I was a little girl, watching Saturday morning cartoons in the month of December gave me plenty of ideas for all the 'things' that I wanted for Christmas.  And trust me, I had a long list.  Every commercial on TV advertised everything a little girl was suppose to have in order to make her happy.  My list seemed to change daily if not minute by minute.  Every time I thought of something new to add to my list, I would run to my Mom and say, "I changed my mind, I want....."
Then we grow up, and if we aren't careful, we do the exact same thing.  We see the new gadget, or the shiny new toy being advertised on TV and add that to our list of  'I want....'
Luke 2:25-32 tells us of a man named Simeon, whose only request was to see the Lord Christ before he died.  God answered his prayer and gave him what he wanted.
The Lord loves to bless His children!  In fact, the Bible tells us in Psalm 68:19, that the Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, but it's easy to start focusing on the blessings, and not the Person giving us the blessings.
I want to stop looking in His hands for blessings, and start seeking His face for Who He Is.
The Saviour of the World.  He's already given enough.
But that's just me!

Wrap this thought:  Jesus is both The Giver and the Gift!
