Forgive, Forget and Move Forward

"Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should old acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne.  For auld lang syne, my Dear, for auld lang syne-We'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne."

"The origin of Auld Lang Syne can be traced back to a poem written by Robert Burns in 1788.  It can be up to six verses long, with the chorus sung between each stanza, and although Burns recorded it, he noted that it was an ancient song that had been passed down through oral tradition.  The phrase, "Auld Lang Syne," roughly translates to "For Old Times' Sake," and the song reflects on preserving old friendships and memories." The year 2025 is drawing to a close.  It's that time of year when we think back on what this year held; or perhaps on things lost.  We try to remember the good and forget the bad.
New goals are set.
Old grudges are set aside.

Instead of singing an old Scottish Poem, I choose to determine to achieve what the Apostle Paul wrote under the leadership of the Holy Spirit of God in Philippians 3:13-14.
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Letting go isn't always easy...
Forgiving, forgetting and moving forward can be hard...
But tomorrow is gone, and today is all we have...
So, let's press forward for Christ...!
                But that's just me!

"Resolution One: I will live for God.
Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will." Jonathan Edwards
