And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men; Colossians 3:23
When I was a little girl, my Mom used to tell me, "When you see something that needs to be done, don't wait for me to tell you to do it, just do it."
As my boys grew up, I told them the same thing, "If you see the garbage can is full, don't wait for me to tell you to take it out, just take it out."
I remembered those words this past week, every time I went to church.
The first week, I noticed the need, but thought nothing of it.
The second week I thought, "Isn't So-and-So responsible to take care of this? I wonder why this hasn't been done?"
The third week I thought, "This looks terrible! Why hasn't anyone done anything about this?"
Hey, I'm just being honest.
But just as soon as that thought entered my mind, the Lord said, "YOU DO IT."
Now, the Lord doesn't speak audibly anymore, but let me tell you, I heard Him loud and clear!
So what did I do?
I stepped up and took care of the need.
Next time, I won't wait so long.
But that's just me.
